Car #65

A black sprint car with gold lettering, #65 was built in 1930. This 74 year old car is powered by a 216 cu in GMC six cylinder with 190 horsepower. The car was the backup car for the Carter Carburetor Special raced at the Indy 500 in 1930, 1931 & 1932. The car was restored by Joel Haffner in 2000. Every nut and bolt was redone. It’s an all aluminum car with a 3 speed Model A transmission and rear end that has been modified. Joel Haffner (age 58) is also the driver and keeps the car in Bend, Oregon.
