Car
Number 21 is Chinese red in honor of it’s builder Grant King who painted the
cars he kept for himself Chinese Red. The
car is a Silver Crown Sprint Car built for Tom Sneva to drive in the 1974
season. The car is 30 years old and is
powered by a 1970 ties Chevrolet 350 cu. in. with fuel injection on alcohol and
with approximately 550 horsepower. Car
was raced around the northwest as a super modified during the 1980s by Bill
Seidelman. Car raced at the Copper
Classic in 1987. Glen Walker (65
years old) is the driver. Glen started
racing at Elma Washington in 1957 and is still actively racing modern sprint
cars. Marvin Price and Tom Hanna are
the owners and keep the car in Portland, OR. The car has
independent front and rear suspension with a two-speed transaxle out to the
1968 Laycock Mongoose Indy car. It took
over 3 years to restore.
